Lance Reddick, one of the well-known faces of the John Wick saga, was found dead in the early hours of March 17 at his home in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles. He was 60 years old.
The cause of death of Lance Reddick has not yet been announced, but some US media are claiming that the death occurred from natural causes, likely a heart attack. The actor reprized his role as Charon in John Wick: Chapter 4, which has just been released in theaters worldwide.
Reddick has been busy these days helping to promote the new chapter of the saga Keanu Reeves and was due to perform in the living room of The Kelly Clarkson Show next week. His future projects also included the remake of White Men Can’t Jump (Who does not jump white is, Ron Shelton’s ’92 film) and the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the John Wick spin-off entitled Ballerina .
Lance landed his first major role in the fourth season of the Oz series in 2004 as undercover agent Johnny Basil. Hbo then decided to work with him again on The Wire, entrusting him with the role of one of the protagonists, Cedric Daniels, who appeared in all 60 episodes of the show. His career then continued with a role in Lost and Fringe, which he collaborated with JJ Abrams. Then for the small screen he starred in shows like Law & Order, Csi, American Horror Story, The Blacklist, Bosch, Castle and most recently Resident Evil and Young Sheldon.
Among the feature films there are instead Godzilla vs Kong, Attack on Power 3, That night in Miami and Sylvie’s Love. The actor has also contributed to the development of numerous video games such as Quantum Break, Destiny and Horizon Zero Dawn.
Born on December 31, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland, Reddick attended the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York, where he received his bachelor’s degree, and then attended the Yale School of Drama. Reddick is survived by wife Stephanie Diane Day and children Yvonne Nicole and Christopher.
