Johnny Depp trial live: Actor testifies at libel trial about fights with Amber Heard, horrific finger injury and feces on bed

Johnny Depp explains why he didn’t leave Amber Heard

Johnny Depp testified for a second day in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. Cross-examination began at the end of the day and will continue Thursday morning.

Heard is being sued by Depp for implying he abused her in a 2018 comment she wrote. Though she didn’t give his name, his attorneys claim her allegations made it harder for the actor to land film roles and propelled him from “Cinderella to Quasimodo” in Hollywood, as described by the Pirates of the Caribbean actor.

Recalling a traumatic childhood with an abusive mother, the actor said his relationship with Heard reflected that, accusing her of “bullying” him.

He described a tumultuous time together, including a fight that saw his finger severed when human feces were found on his bed, and what he says happened the night Heard accused him of just using a phone at her in having thrown her penthouse divorce proceedings.

Heard has filed a $100million (£76.6million) counterclaim against Depp for molestation and immunity from the actor’s allegations. Depp previously lost a defamation suit against The Sun newspaper in the UK over the same article by Heard.
