Johnny Depp uses “a little break in Stockholm between shows” and takes a boat trip

He emerged victorious from a highly controversial defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.

And just weeks after the trial was completed, Johnny Depp appears to be relaxing in the midst of a new music tour on the continent and ahead of his first new film in Europe in more than two years.

His travels took him to Sweden, where he used “a break in Stockholm … between shows” for a boat trip, which he documented on his Instagram page on Saturday.

In the photo, the Finding Neverland star smokes some sort of cigarette while relaxing in the stern of the boat as it speeds away from a row of buildings in the background.

He’s wearing paint-splattered pants, a matching t-shirt with tiny holes all over it, sunglasses, and a baseball cap over his long brown locks.

When he mentions being “between shows,” most fans would assume from the comment that he plays gigs with his supergroup Hollywood Vampires, which he co-founded with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and Alice Cooper.

In fact, for the past few weeks, Depp has been performing live with legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, who has recorded and played with Hollywood Vampires.

A source told Poptopic that Disney is working on a “$301 million deal,” along with a “substantial donation” to a charity of Depp’s choice as a goodwill gesture to lure Depp back for another Pirates movie or two .

The source added that another project for Disney Plus is in the works. They said: “The deal reportedly sees Johnny Depp return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a Disney Plus spin-off series about the early life of The Black Pearl’s captain.”

They continued, “What I can tell you is that the studio has already drafted a film about Jack Sparrow, so they are very confident that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”

But a representative for Depp denied the claim, telling NBC News: “This is made up.”

The Edward Scissorhands star previously told judges he will not be working with Disney again after being dropped from the sixth Pirates film.

Depp was asked, “If Disney came to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, would there be anything on earth that would make you go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean movie?”

He replied, “That is true.”

His legal team alleges Depp lost a $22 million payday after Heard published her op-ed in The Washington Post in 2018, which did not identify Depp, though readers assumed she was referring to him.

The Kentucky-born star said he feels “guilty until proven innocent” to Disney executives.

Original Pirates screenwriter Stuart Beattie was the first to publicly acknowledge that Disney Studios dropped the star in 2018 when they revamped the entire franchise.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMailTV at a Hollywood red carpet event, Beattie confirmed on camera that the reboot means Depp is out as Sparrow.

Nodding when it was suggested Depp wasn’t there, he said: “I think he’s had a great run. He obviously made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now.

“And kids around the world love him as that character, so I think it’s been great for him, it’s been great for us, so I’m just really, really happy about that.”

Depp sued Heard over the comment she wrote, describing herself as “a public figure who advocates domestic violence.”

The jury ruled in Depp’s favor on all three of his claims regarding specific statements in the 2018 play.

The jury found that Depp should be awarded $10 million in damages and $5 million in punitive damages, but the judge reduced the punitive damages to $350,000, below a state cap.

Heard said she plans to appeal the verdict because she is unable to pay the $8.3 million in damages.

A source close to the Aquaman star claimed the 36-year-old actress is “broke” and that she “considers her career in Hollywood over” and has “nothing to lose” after a disastrous few months.

The judge overseeing the trial ordered Depp to pay Heard $2 million, the jury’s award for her counterclaim that Heard was defamed by one of Depp’s attorneys.

The order was a formality after the jury returned its verdict on June 1, widening following a sensational trial in which the couple revealed lurid details of their brief marriage during a televised trial that was closely followed on social media sided with Depp.

Lawyers for Depp and Heard were unable to reach a last-minute agreement, which now means there could be a costly and lengthy appeal process.

The case will be heard in the Virginia Circuit Court of Appeals in approximately three weeks, during which time both parties have 30 days to appeal.
