Johnny Depp will direct his first film after a 25year hiatus.

The actor will return towards a feature film called Modigliani, which will talk about Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. Al Pacino and Barry Navidi are producing the feature film. The film shows two days of turbulent events in the life of the Italian painter and sculptor Modigliani, who was considered a critical and sales failure. The 48 hours that the film shows will have the power to change the artist’s story and cement his reputation.

Speaking of the new project, Johnny Depp said in a statement: “The saga of Mr. Modigliani’s life is one that I am incredibly honored to bring to the big screen with great humility. It’s been a life of difficulties, but ultimately a triumph.” — a universal and human being that all viewers can relate to,” he said, according to Variety magazine.

Depp made his directorial debut in the 1997 film The Bravo. He also starred in the feature film alongside Marlon Brando.
