According to the military unit, the maneuvers were carried out from July 20 with the aim of strengthening mutual cooperation at sea. After completing the exercises, the Chinese and Russian ships headed for the port of Vladivostok in the far east of the Slavic state.
As part of joint practical actions, the sailors practiced anti-submarine and combat tasks at sea, air defense, sea and air escort of ships, improved their skills in the organization of protection and defense of ship departments.
In total, about 20 combat exercises were conducted, including joint artillery fire at various types of targets.
Russia took part in the exercises with the large anti-submarine ships of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleyev, the corvettes Gremyaschi and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhápov, and support ships.
On the Chinese side, the destroyers Qiqihar and Guiyang, the patrol ships Zaozhuang and Rizhao, and the integrated supply ship Taihu participated.
“In addition, more than 30 naval aircraft, including anti-submarine aircraft, as well as helicopters and interceptors, participated in the exercise on both sides,” the military unit added.
