A forty year old found in a ditch in his vehicle in Joliettein Lanaudière, finally succumbed to his injuries in the night from Sunday to Monday.
It was a passerby who alerted police around 10:20 a.m. to a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Route 343 between Albert-Geoffroy and Lanoraie streets.
The victim was alone in his vehicle while the exit from the road did not appear to be new, according to initial findings.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital, where he was found dead later that night, according to Hélène St-Pierre of the Sûreté du Québec.
A police officer in the collision investigation was dispatched to the scene to analyze the crime scene, which is protected by a security perimeter, the SQ added.
