Police are searching for a man who allegedly violently attacked a Société de transport de Montréal (STM) employee at the Joliette subway station last July. At the time of the incident, the victim even had to flee in his private vehicle, which was vandalized.

The events occurred on the night of July 3rd, around 1:20 a.m. The suspect first appeared at the Joliette train station on the green line in the east of the island before suddenly and without explanation attacking an STM employee.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly insulted the worker, threw an object in his direction and chased him to his vehicle. Damage estimated at more than $5,000 was also caused to this vehicle, where the employee had taken refuge with the doors locked to escape his attacker.

According to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), the person being sought is a white male between the ages of 40 and 50. He has a short beard and a gray mustache. If the main subject is located, they could face a variety of charges, including assault, harassment, or even breach of trust.

Photos that could help identify the man in question were released by police in a news release on Thursday.

At the time of the attack, the suspect was wearing a white shirt with blue and green patterns, a beige bucket hat with a black strap under the chin, red glasses, black pants and black shoes. He would first speak French.
