Jon Jones shoots ‘biggest critic’ Chael Sonnen over hotel assault allegations

Jon Jones won’t miss his chance to bury Chael Sonnen.

On Monday, Jones took to Twitter to address the recent assault lawsuit filed against Sonnen, which stems from an alleged Dec. 18 incident in which Sonnen is accused of assaulting a couple at a Las Vegas hotel. According to the details of the suit obtained from MMA Fighting, Sonnen Dr. Have beaten Christopher Stellpflug several times “without provocation”, punched his wife Julie and also fought several security forces who tried to restrain him.

Jones has had his share of legal troubles in recent years and Sonnen has usually been one of the quickest to criticize him. When a fan responded to Jones on Twitter with a video mocking Sonnen’s opinion, Jones quoted it and shot Sonnen.

This couldn’t be more accurate, imagine having someone at your workplace who couldn’t hold your jockstrap would be your biggest critic. S*** was annoying lol

He followed up shortly thereafter with a tweet that appeared to be another crack at Sonnen, this time apparently implying that Sonnen’s alleged wrongdoing is the result of karmic justice.

It’s interesting how sometimes the people who pray for your downfall and wish you ill end up getting everything they wished for you.

Sonnen is being sued by the Stellpflugs for assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Jones recently got into trouble at a Las Vegas hotel on September 24, 2021, the same night he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. Police arrived at Caesars Palace after being called to investigate a domestic disturbance and Jones was arrested and later charged with domestic battery and a felony involving injuring or disabling a vehicle. On December 16, Jones settled in a Nevada court and received a misdemeanor penalty of between $25 and $250 after failing to plead a plea to charges of injuring or tampering with a vehicle, as well as an additional $750 -dollars in compensation for the victim of property damage. The domestic battery charge was rejected.

The bad blood between Jones and Sonnen dates back years to when the two served as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 17, and then in their subsequent grudge match at UFC 159 in April 2013, which Jones won by TKO in the first round.
