LAS VEGAS — Jon Jones will take on Stipe Miocic in what will become the highest-decorated light heavyweight and heavyweight division in UFC history.

Jones will defend his UFC heavyweight title against Miocic, the former two-time champion, on November 11 at UFC 295 in New York’s Madison Square Garden, UFC President Dana White announced at the UFC 290 weigh-in ceremony on Friday.

ESPN has ranked Jones 3rd in the world pound-for-pound. Jones has the best resume of any fighter in MMA history. He has never really lost in his career, his only loss coming through a disqualification.

Jones (27-1, 1 NC) returned after a three-year hiatus in March, moving up to heavyweight and winning the vacant title against Ciryl Gane by submission in the first round at UFC 285. The New York native has the most wins in the UFC he ever fought for the title (15) and now holds the heavyweight title alongside his record light heavyweight run. Jones, 35, had 11 successful light heavyweight title defenses, tying the UFC record with Demetrious Johnson.

Miocic (20-4) has not fought since losing the belt to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 in March 2021. The Ohio native previously won two straight title fights, both victories over Daniel Cormier. Miocic, 40, has made four successful heavyweight title defenses, the most in UFC division history.
