Jonathan Huberdeau ended his 11-game scoreless streak with the Calgary Flames’ 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.

Midway through the third period, the Quebecer accepted a pass from Mikael Backlund before beating goaltender Casey DeSmith in the right corner.

This goal was only his third of the current season. He also provided an assist for Elias Lindholm’s goalless goal at the end of the game.

The Alberta team dominated the game, shooting 38 times into the Canucks’ net. MacKenzie Weegar, Dillon Dube and Noah Hanifin were the Flames’ other scorers.

Elias Pettersson and Nils Hoglander responded for Vancouver.

This win is the second in a row for Calgary and the fourth in the last six games. Ryan Huska’s men face the New York Islanders on Saturday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
