Jordan Davis ran 40 yards faster than Patrick Mahomes

Jordan Davis, the 341-pound quarterback from Georgia, had a terrific 40-yard dash for 40 yards at the NFL Combine Saturday night.

At 6 feet 6 3/8 inches, Davis is taller than Rob Gronkowski and at 341 pounds heavier than Jason Peters. according to NFL research. However, his 40th time was faster than Patrick Mahomes.

According to ESPN, this is the best time for any player over 300 pounds at the Combine since 2006 and is considered one of the fastest times for a player of this size. Davis’ standing long jump of 10 feet 3 inches is also considered the record for a player over 300 pounds.

Davis, 22, played 14 games for Georgia last year, a key element of their inside lineup. He recorded five tackles for loss and two sacks, with most of his value coming from his first and second runs against the run.

He also scored a rushing touchdown for the Bulldogs. Davis was a unanimous All-American and won both the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Outland Trophy.

Davis is expected to make it through the first round and could move up to the top 10 after an impressive performance by the combine.

Other highly regarded linebackers such as Aidan Hutchinson (4.75), Kaiwon Thibodeaux (4.58) and David Ojabo (4.55) have run faster than Davis, but they are much lighter and play on the edge rather than inside.

Georgia guard Devonte Wyatt, however, clocked 4.77 and weighs 6’3″ and weighs in at 304 pounds.
