The family of homeless man Jordan Neely, who was strangled by ex-Marine Daniel Penny, are planning to file a manslaughter lawsuit
The family of Jordan Neely, the homeless Michael Jackson impersonator who was killed after being strangled by Daniel Penny, announced their intention to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the Marine veteran.
Neely’s aunt, Carolyn, announced the intention in a letter that her attorneys, Manhattan-based firm Mills & Edwards, sent to Penny’s attorney.
“Please note that this post has been retained.” . to make a personal injury and wrongful death claim. . . . “Your action resulted in the death of Jordan Neely,” the letter reads in part, reports the New York Post.
The May Day confrontation was caught on video. In it, Penny can be seen holding Neely with the help of two other passengers after Neely reportedly shouted threats and threatened people on the train.
According to the Post, Neely’s aunt is also looking for Penny’s insurance information.

At the time of writing, Daniel Penny’s legal defense fund has reached $2.8 million on conservative fundraising website GiveSendGo.
“Funds are being raised to pay Mr. Penny’s legal fees arising from any criminal charges and future civil claims, as well as costs related to his defense,” the site read in part.
The biggest donor to Penny’s cause is right-wing commentator Tim Pool, who has donated $20,000. Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy donated $10,000 and conservative rocker Kid Rock donated $5,000.
Rock wrote on the page: “Mr. Penny is a heroine. Alvin Bragg is a POS. children’s skirt.’
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe fundraiser for Jordan Neely’s family, started by his aunt Carolyn, has raised $150,000. This money will be used for Neely’s funeral, burial and public viewing on May 15th.
