Weeks ago, Safap, along with several first division players, held a conference in which he called on the Peruvian Football Federation to respect the rights of footballers.
“We believe that the association makes a series of decisions that ultimately affect the development of the professional footballer's life and ultimately disregard his employment rights. In any case, we have pointed out to the FPF that limiting the squad to 25 or 27 violates the footballers' statutes. We believe this starts with enforcing existing agreements. This issue leads directly to an agreement,” explained Roberto Silva, president of the association.
As if that were not enough, the footballers of the Peruvian team will support the decision of the local players and send a letter to the governing body of national football asking them not to be called up to the Blanquirroja because they do not comply with the Professional footballers of Peru hold statutes.

Fossati will have to wait for the FPF to reach a consensus with the footballers, as Peru will play two friendlies against Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic in March at the FIFA deadline, both games in Lima.
