Telecinco presenter Jorge Javier Vázquez, who has been absent from the network for about two weeks and has been on leave due to a doctor’s prescription, published three tweets this Saturday detailing his condition and indicating that for the time being he will not be seen again on TV. “Forgive me for stealing a moment from you. I would like to thank all the people who have contacted me to show me their love, support and understanding. “Your words make me smile, bring me to tears and keep thinking it was worth it,” he wrote of his loss, which Mediaset, the chain’s owner, announced in a brief statement on May 24 he had reckoned with a “quick recovery” from one of the stars of his programming.
“But sometimes you have to stop,” Vázquez continues, “your body and mind send you signals and I’ve barely paid attention to them my entire life.” ask what I want. If I’m clear. If I don’t know, I hope better.” Chain sources have confirmed this point to EL PAÍS that Jorge Javier Vázquez (Badalona, Barcelona, 52 years old) will not appear again on screen for the time being.Vázquez is in charge of presenting Sálvame, the emblematic place of Telecinco, whose transmissions will end on June 23, after 14 years of uninterrupted presence on Telecinco and Survivors. It was precisely another The channel’s presenter, Carlos Sobera, who said in the broadcast of this last program two weeks ago that Vázquez was not on the set that night because he was unwell, Terelu Campos and María Patiño should replace him in Sálvame.
Right now, the last thing on my mind is going back, although maybe it’s what I wish for the most tomorrow. I don’t know it. So I can only say goodbye for now. “As long as I can.” “Until I get up.” And most of all, thank you. Thanks to you it was worth it.

So I can only say goodbye for now. ‘As long as I can’. “Until it arises”. And most of all thank you. Thanks to you, it was worth it.”
More information
It’s not the first time that Vázquez has suffered from health problems. In 2019, he suffered a stroke, which is why he had to undergo emergency surgery. Months later, he had to undergo another operation because one of the implanted stents was narrowed. In 2022, he experienced a new fright when he was hospitalized with altitude sickness while on a summer vacation in Peru. Added to this is the depression that struck him months after the stroke and which he himself spoke about several times.
