A great honor for Joshua Roy

Joshua Roy feels a change in perception towards him

Despite having an excellent start to the season with the Laval Rocket, Joshua Roy knows he is still a long way from his ultimate goal.

At least that’s what he said in an interview on TVA Sports on Tuesday.

“Things are going really well for me so far. The goal is really just to work hard. If you work, you will be successful. This is what I want to do every night. As soon as I arrived in Laval I had my chance. They trusted me from the beginning.”

The guy who has 12 points in 10 games with the Rocket so far this season isn’t worried about stats. For him the process is much more important.

“My goal is not to achieve a certain number of points. I really focus on the way I play. I want to adapt my game to the professional level. That’s what I’m really focused on. No matter how many points I score, I won’t be happy if I’m not happy with the way I play. That’s really my focus.”

However, the Quebecer admits that he feels that perceptions towards him have changed.

“The perception has changed significantly among both the fans and the organization. I’m happy with how everything is going at the moment, but it’s only been a month. I still have a lot to do if I want to get to where I want to be. When I get a call one day, I will definitely jump for joy. But I don’t want to think about it too much. I trust the managers.”

Overall, Roy believes good things are ahead for the Rocket.

“We still have a young team. I think you can see that. But we have a talented team and we will get there eventually. You just have to start working and playing properly. This will allow us to win a lot of games.”
