Journalist Issam Abdallah from the Portal agency died this Friday (13) in a bomb attack in southern Lebanon, on the border with Israel. He worked with a press team in the region reporting on developments in the conflict between Hamas and Israel, which began on the 7th.

Abdallah was hit while livestreaming one of the bombings. The agency said it had launched its own investigation into the case.

“We were deeply saddened to learn that our cameraman Issam Abdallah was killed,” the agency said in a statement. “We are urgently seeking further information, cooperating with authorities in the area and supporting Issam’s family and colleagues.”

In addition to Abdallah, two journalists from the AlJazeera network and another from the French news agency AFP were also affected. Al Jazeera said its team had been moved to an area hospital.

Searched by g1Portal said it still did not know from which side the bombing of the press team came. There was also no information as to whether the journalists were hit by shrapnel or a rocket until the last update of this report.

The moment was recorded live by the Portal news agency. After a loud explosion, a woman screams:

“What’s up? I can’t feel my legs.”

“She was wearing a press vest and a helmet,” said Al Jazeera journalist Ali Hasham.
