Journalist Fired From Band Demands Job: ‘Apartment Must Be Paid’ TV

Primeiro Jornal and BandNews presenter Maiara Bastianello was fired from the band on Friday (9) after 15 years. The journalist carried out her job normally and was informed of the termination at the end of the day. She took to social media to lament the dismissal and asked for help finding a new job. “For heaven’s sake, send a lot of ‘Frilas’!” he begged.

Maiara was one of the presenters of Manhã BandNews and also covered the early hours as the presenter of the Primeiro Jornal broadcast by BandNews, Band and Terra Viva. Before she was released, she went live on Tarde BandNews with a direct report from Cinemateca Brasileira.

The communicator interviewed several figures from the political scene, including Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur, and was only later informed of her resignation.

In a post on Instagram, she thanked her for learning at the train station. “After 15 years, I couldn’t escape the cut list this time. It was Band that brought me to São Paulo in 2008 after a long and difficult traineeship process. In that time I’ve matured, grown and made friends for life. ., participated in historical reporting, worked with icons I used to admire from afar,” she began.

The presenter also admitted that she didn’t expect to be fired from the company. “I cried, I was happy. Today I’m crying because a cycle is ending even though I wasn’t ready for it (and who is that?). Thank you to everyone who has been reaching out to me all along and sending ‘frilas’!” she asked. “For heaven’s sake, send lots of ‘Frilas’ because I have to pay for an apartment!” Maiara concluded.
