Judge Mathis Encourages Ashanti To Obtain Gag Order Against Irv Gotti

Irv Gotti was the newest star on Drink Champs.

When a rapper pops up on Drink Champs, you can always expect a suspenseful moment or two to make the rounds online after their interview premieres. In the case of Irv Gotti, much of the internet was fixated on him spilling some tea over an alleged sexual relationship with Ashanti.

“We just slept together or whatever, I’m in the shower right now,” Gotti recalled, sharing the story of how the R&B singer reportedly wrote her hit song “Happy.”

“I’m in the shower, you know, and after that I’m going to be creative [sex]… I’ll tell you the short story, you can see the whole story in the Murder Inc documentary … I’m thinking about the whole track in the shower,” he continued, going on to share how his next stop was the studio, where he was with the Production began before Ashanti’s turn to write “a feel-good, summer-like joint.”

In the days since Gotti’s Drink Champs episode released, fans have expressed their disappointment at his comments about Ashanti, and now even Judge Mathis has chimed in on the conversation.

TMZ caught up with Mathis in New York City on Monday (August 8), and he admitted he’d advise Ashanti to send her former co-worker (and alleged lover) a cease-and-desist letter or maybe even go to court to muzzle.

The judge isn’t entirely convinced of the validity of Gotti’s claims, although he firmly believes that if the 41-year-old feels she is being defamed, she has every right to put an end to it.
