Judge tells man to pay ex-wife over $200,000 for 25 years of chores – Fox News

A Spanish judge ordered a man to pay his ex-wife $215,000 for 25 years of chores she did “exclusively” when they were a couple.

Ivana Moral won the verdict after arguing that she was burdened with household chores for the couple during her 25-year marriage, according to a report by WSB, citing Spanish-language newspaper El Pais.

The court ordered Moral’s ex-husband to pay his ex-wife $528 a month, an amount determined by calculating the monthly minimum wage for housekeepers during the couple’s marriage.

Moral told the court she was also responsible for raising the couple’s two daughters and caring for her husband during their marriage, but still managed to clean a house she described as “always spotless.”

The ex-wife argued that “her exclusive commitment to home and family” made it impossible for her to pursue her own career avenues, while her ex-husband was able to build a successful gym and “accumulate his fortune and… to increase exponentially”.

Moral also argued that after 25 years of marriage to her ex-husband, she felt “economically threatened, worthless and dependent.”
