Julianne and co-star Sebastian Stan play a mother-son con duo who have their eyes on a family of billionaires in the new A24 movie on Apple TV Plus.

Set in New York City, Madeline (Moore) meets billionaire Richard Hobbes, played by John Lithgow, and she sets her sights on him as her next target to extort billions of dollars from him.

She enlists the help of her disgraced son Max (Stan) to steal the money. Max then develops his own angle on the scam, using the billionaire’s son Tom, played by Justice Smith, to get him.

Directed by Emmy-winning director Benjamin Caron (The Crown, Andor, Sherlock), it is described as a neo-noir thriller.

He told PEOPLE that the film “is inspired by a long line of great films that keep audiences guessing to the end, including The Usual Suspects, House of Games, Klute, Drive, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Color of Money ‘The Sting and More.’

The film is being produced by Julianne along with Erik Feig, Jessica Switch, Bart Freundlich and screenwriters Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. Julia Hammer and Amy Herman serve as executive producers.

Sharper is scheduled to release on Apple TV Plus on Friday February 10th.
