Julie Boheim, the wife of legendary Syracuse men’s basketball coach Jim Boheim, was reportedly robbed in broad daylight in front of a mall in New York on Tuesday.
Syracuse police say the robbery took place outside Destiny USA shortly after 2 p.m. A young man spoke to the victim before pointing a gun at her, reached into the car and grabbed the victim’s bag, authorities said. The Rochester Democrat & Chronicle reported that Julie Boheim was the victim.

The suspect, who was not identified immediately, got into a separate vehicle with two others and drove off. The car was reported stolen.
Syracuse police said on Tuesday that vehicle thefts had increased by 40% compared to last year. Authorities have advised residents on how to stay safe as thefts appear to be on the rise.

Police have asked anyone with information about the robbery to call 315-442-5222.
Julie and Jim Boheim have been married since 1997 and have three children – two sons and a daughter. Jimmy and Buddy Boheim play for the Syracuse men’s basketball team. The Oranges are 15-15 this season and 9-10 against ACC opponents.

The Boeheims also run a charity foundation. Their charity “seeks to enrich the lives of children in need in our community in Central New York, as well as provide support for cancer elimination through research and advocacy,” according to their website.
