Junior competition and development for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens

Junior : competition and development for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens

The days for the saguenéens have been the same for a few weeks. The race between Chicoutimi, Rimouski and Moncton for home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs is set for the end of the regular season. Before the “Sags” knew the outcome of that fight, they had a rough end to the season when they faced off against the Océanic and the Quebec Remparts. Although the Saguenéenne side are going through a pivotal moment, head coach Yanick Jean is keeping an eye on the development of his young squad. With the Bleuets sitting fifth in the Eastern Conference with 68 points, Jean acknowledges his side’s surprise upset in the standings turned heads.

what they said

“The boys have the opportunity to develop in every game and that’s the most important thing. You must add baggage and kilometers. We gave ourselves the opportunity to play these games and I want these games to be useful for our development.

– Yanick Jean after Sunday’s game against Quebec.

“No one is under pressure. We shouldn’t be in this situation now. There is no one who thought of seeing us like this”
