Junior Difficult end of the season for the Oceanic

Junior : Difficult end of the season for the Oceanic

Struggling with a tight schedule, the Océanic are having a difficult end of the season with just two wins in their last 10 games ahead of this weekend’s doubles game against the Remparts that will end the regular season. Serge Beausoleil’s side lost their six games of the season to Patrick Roy’s side, who are sure to show no signs of letting up amid the battle for the season’s championship with the Halifax Mooseheads. Despite everything, the Océanic remain in the fight for home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Rimouski ranks fourth in the Eastern Conference with Chicoutimi, a point behind Moncton. The Sags play a double header against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

With a goal in each of his side’s three games last week, the 19-year-old forward came within the net of the 30 goals he scored in the two games against the Remparts. He had 10 goals in his first season in the QMJHL last year. A very nice progression for the big number 64.

what they said

“My old people did it. I’m thinking of Verreault, Filion, Dumoulin, Gauthier, Maltais. They were good, they delivered. But if you give up five goals, you don’t give yourself many chances to win.”

– Serge Beausoleil after Sunday’s defeat.

“I want to thank the entire Océanic organization, our fans and especially my boarding family. I spent three wonderful years in Rimouski”

– former Océanic captain Frédéric Brunet ahead of Sunday’s game.
