Despite two decent performances, the Océanic couldn’t stop the winning streak of the Gatineau Olympiques, who left Rimouski in 15th place straight win last Sunday. This intensified the battle for third place in the Eastern Conference, still held by the Océanic but just a point ahead of the Saguenéens. With four straight wins, the Moncton Wildcats are within four points behind the Océanic, with one game against Rimouski and two against the Sags. What stood out last week was the closure of the Sun Life Financial Coliseum due to asbestos.

The 20-year-old forward celebrated his 200th career game in the QMJHL by scoring the only goal for Océanic in Saturday’s loss to Olympiques. The Saguenéens’ 5th round pick in 2018, Filion only played six games with that team before joining the Remparts and this year the Océanic for three seasons. He has 32 points in 40 games.
what they said
“We haven’t been demoted from one of the best-resourced teams in the league. The boys didn’t give up in third place. We had some good chances after catching up to 4-2.”
-Serge Beausoleil after Sunday’s 5-2 defeat
“It was a busy week. We come back from three to three and cannot enter the Colosseum. On Wednesday I’m supposed to prepare for two local games in Gatineau. I wasn’t in a good mood. Luckily everything went back to normal on Thursday. »
-Serge Beausoleil on the situation at the Colosseum
