Justin Bieber has sparked intense backlash after posting – and then deleting – a “Pray for Israel” post with a photo of the destruction in Gaza.

The post, shared several days after Hamas’ deadly terrorist attack on Israeli civilians, was removed from his Instagram Stories and replaced with the exact same message without the inaccurate photo.

“Pray for Israel,” he wrote simply, along with a broken heart emoji and a green background.

The error did not go unnoticed by many on the Internet, who criticized Bieber on X, formerly Twitter, for the inaccuracy.

“Celebrities are so out of touch it’s really embarrassing man,” one Twitter user remarked about the mistake.

“Another example of celebrities knowing absolutely nothing and reposting the first thing they see,” one account wrote.

“Just embarrassing.” If you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t talk at all. And didn’t he just say yesterday that he wasn’t going to choose a side, and look what he’s doing now? And while he’s at it, he also chooses the wrong side. “Smh,” wrote another.

“This gives me the vibe of ‘I don’t know what’s going on but I just want to be a part of it,'” wrote another.

“A simple Google search could have saved him from this embarrassment…” another wrote.

“Instead of rushing to post online, maybe take a few minutes to actually learn what’s happening.” “Especially when you have millions of fans,” wrote another.

“Justin Bieber prays for Israel yet shows a picture of Gaza,” another wrote with an eye-rolling emoji.

“Justin Bieber posts “Praying for Israel” over a picture of Gaza. “You can’t even be really wrong,” tweeted one with two crying emojis.

This came after Justin posted a statement about the conflict on his Instagram Stories.

“It really hurts me, both for my Israeli and my Palestinian friends.” I’m pretty sure we all instinctively recognize evil when we see it. To denigrate all Palestinians or the entire Israeli people seems wrong to me. “I’m not interested in picking sides, but I am interested in standing with the families that were brutally taken from us,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories.

Hamas, which controls the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, attacked Israel on Saturday, causing the worst breach of the country’s defenses since the Arab armies’ war in 1973. Israel responded with air strikes on Gaza.

Justin is one of many celebrities getting involved in the conflict.

Among them is Gal Gadot, one of the first Hollywood names to express support for Israel. On Tuesday, she revealed her deep regret over Hamas’ attack on Israel, which left at least 1,400 Israelis and Palestinians dead. She pledged her support to the victims of terrorists.

The 38-year-old Israeli actress – who previously said “the world cannot stand idly by” in the face of war in Israel and Palestine – urged her followers to donate money to victims of the weekend attacks and criticized people who responded to the atrocities with “justification.” not empathy’ on Tuesday.

She shared a post that read, “Israel is under attack and we need your support,” and wrote, “Whoever can donate, these people’s lives changed forever yesterday.” They have lost so much and need help. Only if you can.’

She later wrote about her stories: “Whoever can and wants to donate, these people’s lives changed forever yesterday.”

“They have lost so much and need help.” Only if you can. If your attitude towards their government makes you less empathetic towards the victims, the propaganda will affect you.

“The goal of propaganda is dehumanization.” It works to dehumanize Israelis, and it works to dehumanize Gazans

“I like to think that most of us are above propaganda. But this weekend reminded me how widespread it is. Because many people reacted to this violence with justification and not with empathy.

Called out: “This gives me the vibe, I don’t know what’s going on but I just want to be a part of it,” one X user said of Justin, who posted the fake photo

“I guess it’s not surprising, but it’s still heartbreaking.” Propaganda is everywhere. It penetrates us over time. It tries to block our empathy receptors. So when we see violence, we rationalize our human reaction

“Killing innocent Palestinians is terrible.” Killing innocent Israelis is terrible. If you don’t feel that way, I think you should ask yourself why that is.”

On Saturday, it also posted a screenshot of an article detailing how Israeli soldiers and civilians were taken hostage by militants.

She wrote: “At least 250 Israelis have been murdered in Gaza by the Palestinian military group Hamas, and dozens of women, children and the elderly have been held hostage.”

“More than 3,000 rockets were fired from early morning. Hamas holds hostages and controls bases and settlements in Israel. There were more than 1,500 injured and heavy fighting is still ongoing. “I hear their voices and they are knocking on the door. I am with my two small children. My heart hurts.’

The former Miss Israel 2004 was among the first celebrities to support Israel, writing: “I stand with Israel, you should too. ‘The world cannot stand idly by while these terrible terrorist attacks happen!’
