Kaia Gerber is feeling “huge pressure” while reprising her recurring role as a manicurist named Mitzi on the Apple TV+ comedy Mrs. American Pie” from the 70s.
“I don’t think I’m funny, but I kind of do comedy,” the 21-year-old DNA model admitted in her Flaunt cover story.
“And I’m just waiting – maybe one day people will find out that I’m not funny, but I drive as long as I can.”

Kaia continued, “I think I realized that if you want to be funny, you can’t get into the joke. Because I never feel funny and then afterwards I see people laughing and I’m like, “That was serious.” And maybe that’s the key, or maybe that’s my way? I’m serious.’
Tate Taylor’s 10-part series – based on Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel – also stars Mindy Cohn, Allison Janney, Claudia Ferri, Julia Duffy, Carol Burnett, Laura Dern, Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas and Leslie Bibb.
“It’s my first time working with an ensemble – all people I look up to so much, like I grew up with,” Gerber enthused.
“I mean, like Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern, who, you know, is Laura Dern. Then Carol Burnett. I mean, the Carol Burnett Show is… I just sit there and just watch everyone work. I remember working with Sarah Paulson. I had one day working with her on American Horror Story.

“I think the people who put up with me are very patient. I really admire that because I get all kinds of wild ideas and try all kinds of existence,” Kaia explained.
“I think the people in my life, and maybe that’s why there aren’t that many, are very patient with me in that regard. The more I get to know myself, the more I get to know the people I get to spend my limited time on earth with.

“And I hope they want to spend just as much time with me. In this regard, every day is a gamble. And I learned a lot of patience from my brother. He was my greatest patience teacher. By far. He was my greatest teacher in many things, but definitely in patience.”
The 23-year-old self-proclaimed “entrepreneur,” who lasered his “misunderstood” face tattoo last year, completed his three-year probation in July, which stemmed from a 2019 arrest for DUI.
