Kaley Cuoco got the surprise of her life when Sharon Stone asked to be cast in ‘The Flight Attendant’ – but what happened next was even more shocking.
Cuoco promoted the series when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, where she opened up about Stone being cast in to play her mother for the second season of the HBO Max show.
“She was a fan of the show. She loved season 1 and heard we were casting my mom and she called the casting herself and said, ‘I’d love to do that.’ And the casting said we had a voicemail from Sharon Stone … I thought that can’t be real and found out it is,” Cuoco recalled.
The actress said she and Stone filmed “very intense scenes” together, and there was one in particular where Stone wanted to improvise — and ended up with the “Basic Instinct” alum slapping Cuoco in the face.

“I think one of our scenes was like 10 minutes long and very emotional. There was a lot of crying. Before we started the scene, she sat down with me and said, ‘Hey, how do you feel about me touching you in this scene?’ I said, ‘Whatever you want to do, Sharon. You are Sharon Stone. you do what you want to do I’m just so happy you’re here.” She says, ‘Awesome,’” Cuoco recalled to Kimmel.
“We do the take and it’s this very long emotional scene and at the end of the scene she’s supposed to come up to me and say something very serious to me and walk out. She should say, ‘I like you, but I don’t love you very much.’ She says that phrase to me and she grabs my face and she hits me.”
Cuoco called her reaction on camera “about as real as you can get.”
“So Sharon comes back and says, ‘Oh my God, I love you. I didn’t want to do that, it felt right for the scene,’” Cuoco recalls. “I think I just got hit by Sharon Stone.”

The slap also surprised everyone, Cuoco said, but the star told the crew not to tell Stone because she was confident it wouldn’t happen twice. “I bet the woman won’t hit me again. We got the money,” Cuoco recalled telling producers.
However, on the second take, Stone “howls at me again!” Cuoco says, adding that once again she “had another incredibly real reaction because I just got hit a second time.”

When it came time for the third take, Cuoco recalled, “I don’t think Sharon Stone is going to hit me a third time. We understood it. [The camera] Wasn’t even with me on the last take.”

“We’re going to do the tape again, she’s coming right in there… She’s hitting me again. I got hit three times,” Cuoco said.

Ultimately, Cuoco said it was “amazing.” She said filming with Stone was “insane but one of the best stories I’ve ever had.”

She also assured Flight Attendant fans that the slap made it into an upcoming episode.
“However, she was one of the most wonderful people. It was as real as it could be,” Cuoco said.
