Kamala Harris involved in minor car accident dismissed as ‘mechanical failure’: report

What REALLY happened in the Foggy Bottom Tunnel? Involved in a car accident in DC, Kamala Harris is being treated by medics after the Secret Service driver “overcorrected” and hit the curb (but blamed it on “mechanical failure”).

  • No one was injured, and Harris’ medical staff’s evaluation appears to be a precautionary measure
  • It happened late Monday morning in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of DC
  • The minor accident happened when their motorcade driver overcorrected

Vice President Kamala Harris was reportedly involved in a minor car accident earlier this week that was not publicized as of Wednesday night.

Their motorcade crashed into a curb late Monday morning with enough force to immobilize one of the car’s wheels, the Washington Post reported.

No one was injured and Harris was reportedly transferred to another vehicle and continued on her route. The Vice President then traveled to the White House.

She had reportedly been examined by medics upon arrival at the White House, who confirmed that Harris was fine.

The incident was apparently described as a “mechanical failure” by senior intelligence officials.

Intelligence spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the Post: “During a protective move Monday, a vehicle in a motorcade had a minor overcorrection and crashed into a curb.”

“The person entitled to protection was transferred to a second vehicle and the motorcade drove on to its destination. Nobody was hurt,” he said.

The spokesperson explained that the peculiar description of a “mechanical failure” was only included in the agents’ initial written communication of the incident, and that Secret Service heads were informed later in the conversation.

“Initial radio traffic indicated there was a mechanical failure and this was reported to agency management by personnel assisting with the motorcade movement,” Guglielmi told the Post.

“After the protective movement was completed, the leadership was verbally informed, with additional pertinent facts, that the vehicle had hit a curb.”
