Vice President Kamala Harris said Thursday she had seen no footage that appeared to show Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and First Lady Jill Biden greeting each other with a kiss on the mouth.

“I haven’t watched the video,” Harris told Univision’s Edwin Pitti when asked for a reaction to the embarrassing, viral clip.

The vice president added, “But I know the First Lady and Second Gentleman are working diligently on what we are doing with my husband on anti-Semitism.”

The Washington Free Beacon was the first to report Harris’ response to Univision, which was dubbed into Spanish.

The viral moment came as the first lady and second gentleman arrived at the State of the Union address on Capitol Hill on Tuesday night.

While their spouses sat at the top of the dais, they sat together with their guests on the balcony of the chamber of the house.

dr Biden, dressed in bright purple, held out her hand to Emhoff and then curled up for a kiss that appeared to have caught him on the mouth before sliding past him to her seat.

“Um, why did Jill Biden and Kamala Harris’ husband kiss on the lips?” wrote a popular commentator on twitter.

The kiss sparked food for thought – from left-leaning publications like Slate and right-leaning ones like The Federalist.

“Everyone’s talking about Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff’s weird kiss except our national press,” read the Federalist’s headline.

“If only Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff’s kiss could last forever,” said the one published by Slate.

dr Biden brought a number of guests to Tuesday night’s affair, including U2 frontman Bono and the parents of Tire Nichols, a black man who was recently beaten to death by Memphis police.

She also brought with her Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who survived a politically motivated hammer attack.

As a guest, Emhoff brought 92-year-old Ruth Cohen, a Holocaust survivor.

In her interview with Pitti late last month, Harris discussed Emhoff’s trip to Poland and Germany.

“He was in Poland, in Kraków, visiting Auschwitz to see what we have to do to fight against hatred. He fights against anti-Semitism but also against hatred of immigrants and unfortunately we have seen that in our country,” she told Univision.

“But the First Lady and Second Gentleman are really, really concerned about a lot of people who are being overlooked and underrepresented,” Harris added.
