Kaman 19, Iran’s new unmanned aircraft

“The new advanced drone took part in electronic warfare and airborne radar jamming operations,” announced General Alireza Sheikh, spokesman for the exercises.

The ongoing war exercises include a message of “peace and friendship” for countries in the region, with Iranian authorities calling for unity and joint action to ensure regional security without the presence of foreign forces.

The main phase of these preparatory exercises with unmanned military aircraft began the previous day and involves troops from four army units. Around 200 drones of different types are in use across large parts of the country.

The setting ranges from the warm waters of the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea in the south to the eastern, western, northern and central areas of the country.

The first missions focused on verifying the correct and efficient use of electronic warfare units by practicing various tactics.

The aim of these activities is to assess the precision of the devices, the skills of the pilots and the power of the shots, said Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayari, deputy commander of the Iranian army for coordination affairs.

The exercise would involve reconnaissance drones, combat drones, kamikaze drones and those capable of carrying missiles, bombs and electronic warfare equipment, Sayari revealed.

The Iranian army conducted the first large-scale joint drone exercise for two days in August 2022, using more than 150 domestically manufactured units.

Today, the country of Persians is among the five nations in the world capable of producing drones of high quality and precision, with purchase requests coming from several Western and European countries.
