Kanye West’s $57 million Malibu mansion remains a concrete eyesore

Kanye West’s $57 million Malibu mansion has been “rotting from the inside” less than two years after the rapper bought it and hired an acclaimed architect to renovate it.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, acquired the 4,000-square-foot oceanfront property in September 2021, which features huge windows overlooking the ocean.

He enlisted the help of architect Tadao Ando and brought in top contractors to oversee the extensive remodeling plans.

But the next summer, renovations stopped and the gutted, windowless mansion sat empty. Months later, Ye was dropped from several business partners and brands for his anti-Semitic outbursts.

Yes Malibu’s neighbors told TMZ that his mansion was “rotting” and that they “hadn’t seen anyone around for many months.”

Ye was spotted at the property last summer reviewing progress, but his empire has since imploded in dramatic fashion after inciting several anti-Semitic tirades that broke the camel’s back after decades of outlandish behavior and embarrassing meltdowns.

His anti-Semitic rants also resulted in a loss of about $1.6 billion of his net worth and he was dropped from Forbes’ billionaires list, CBS News recently reported.

But it’s believed the rapper still has plenty of cash and the funds to refurbish the shell of the beach house in some style.

And while his expensive plans were obviously falling apart, he ironically flew into a new marriage with an architect, wed Bianca Censori, Yeezy’s head of architecture, in January.

While one fan posted in 2021 that the “Malibu house is indeed the pad of my dreams,” others have since noted it descended into despair.

In late 2022, when Ye was making anti-Semitic remarks, one person tweeted, “Someone put a ‘Happy Hanukkah’ banner on Kanye’s ugly house in Malibu.”

Ye has several other hotels around the country, most recently staying at his Bianca Censori’s at several in the Los Angeles area, including the Nobu Ryokan, where rooms cost upwards of $2,000 a night.

He also owns a sprawling ranch in Calabasas, Los Angeles, which he bought in 2019 for an estimated $3 million.

This lot features 50-foot ‘Yecosystemss’ structures that he hoped would help LA’s rampant homeless population while also serving as a backdrop for Sunday Service, the gospel choir performance project he eventually pursued Coachella brought.

West built the domes via the architecture arm of his Yeezy label called Yeezy Home, which he founded in 2018. “We are looking for architects and industrial designers who want to make the world a better place,” he said at the time.

Despite being dropped from almost all of his collaborations, including lucrative deals with Adidas and Balenciaga, the rapper has pushed ahead with his own business plans, filing trademark applications under the Yecosystem name.

Included in the filing were business plans for a home design service, apartment buildings, and even retail stores that were ostensibly designed to provide services to his prospective tenants.

But shortly after he first built the domes in California in September 2019, West violated California housing codes after failing to obtain planning permission.

After failing once, the domes were slated for demolition – signaling the start of his real estate troubles.

In his signature bombastic style, West attempted another architectural experiment in “affordable housing” after purchasing a sprawling ranch in Wyoming that he snapped up while reportedly “obsessed” with the Midwestern state a few years ago.

The rapper, who was bought for a staggering $14 million in 2019, set out to hedge his bets on success in his bizarre contraptions.

More than 1,100 miles from his ailing Calabasas estate, western Wyoming saw the open plains as the perfect setting to expand his unorthodox real estate ambitions.

Again aiming to erect the outlandish constructions, the rapper mimicked his prototypes in California — except this time he apparently used concrete-like walls instead of the wood and material lattices he was trying out on the West Coast.

Images from July 2020 showed the ranch was a busy hotspot of development, with numerous vehicles on the premises while workers hammered away at the structures.

But now, after the collapse of his fortune and shattered public image, new footage of “Monster Lake Ranch” shows it’s essentially stranded.
