Kanye West’s Instagram account suspended due to public attacks

After Kanye West spent the morning targeting his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend Pete Davidson, as well as a host of other famous black comedians, including The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, to Instagram posts, the media platform restricted his account. record, Rolling Stone can confirm.

A spokesman for Meta, the parent company of Instagram, told Rolling Stone magazine that West’s @kanyewest account was suspended for 24 hours for repeatedly violating the platform’s rules on hate speech, bullying and harassment. West will not be able to post, comment or send private messages on Instagram for 24 hours. The company also removed content that violated its policies from West’s account, including a post containing racial slurs against Noah.

A Meta spokesperson said the company will consider taking further action if West continues to break Instagram’s rules. (TMZ first reported this.)

Representatives for Kanye West did not immediately respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

On Wednesday morning, the rapper, who has been using social media for the past few weeks to beat up Davidson, shared a 2019 Breitbart article that mentions the comedian’s spicy joke about having sex with a child.

“Another reason why SKETE should stay away from my kids,” he wrote. “Oh, and no one noticed he wasn’t on SNL because Mr. I Can Help You with Medications had a mental breakdown after we took him off the internet.” (Davidson was reportedly absent from Saturday Night Live while filming the upcoming horror film House.)

In the post, he continued, “SKET, you’re not made for this, I already blacked out the Super Bowl for you… Apologize to your family for being in your family.”

In subsequent posts, he claimed that Davidson would put Kardashian on drugs because he “goes into rehab every two months.” West also poked fun at Hillary Clinton’s Davidson tattoo, writing, “The Tramp Stamp Pete the Tramp…here’s the stamp.”

To make matters worse, West posted a screenshot of the “Eazy” violently molded plasticine video showing Davidson’s decapitated head with flowers growing out of it. His signature? “You will be ready for Coachella ☠️,” he wrote.

The tirade continued as West targeted Noah as well as D.L. Hughley and Davidson’s SNL colleague Michael Che in subsequent posts. West’s anger at Hughley was fueled by a series of recent Twitter jokes from the comedian, including one in which he joked about the Donda 2 rapper’s divorce from the Kardashians. “#Kanye, do you know how awful you have to be to get a #Kardashian to date a white man?” Huley wrote. West responded by posting a photo of Hughley in a camouflage jacket and wide-brimmed hat with the caption, “This grown man chose this outfit himself. Is he powerful or influenced???

Despite restrictions on Instagram, West has yet to post on his other social media profiles to respond to the incident. His Twitter account has been inactive since the rapper’s failure in the 2020 presidential election.
