The couple share son Cree and Kate, stepmother to Rio’s sons Lorenz and Tate, and daughter Tia from his marriage to the late wife Rebecca, who tragically died in 2015 aged just 34 after a battle with breast cancer.
Kate shared the sweet family reunion snap on Monday morning after Rio surprised her with a visit earlier this month and made her cry.
The former footballer had traveled to the Middle East to appear as one of the BBC’s top pundits during coverage of the World Cup but left his wife stunned when she returned home while working out at the gym.
Following their reunion, Kate and Rio enjoyed a family day out in Lapland UK, with the former TOWIE star sharing a sweet snap of her son Cree at the attraction.

In a video posted to her Instagram Stories, Kate captured the moment Rio returned home after flying back to the UK, trying to hide her face from the camera after she burst into tears at the reunion.
Rio told his followers: “I just got home and she’s crying. She’s happy to see me. I look awful, I feel awful, she’s crying.”
Kate hid her face and replied, “I didn’t know you would be here.”
Attempting to film his wife, Rio said, “She’s not going to look. Come on, show us you’re crying. Come on, show us your tears.’

Also on her Instagram Stories, she shared a snap of Cree following an elf into a grotto, where he met a “patient” Santa chatting and handing out gifts.
In another snap, Cree could be seen sweetly posting his letter to Santa – with Kate writing alongside the picture: “Honestly such a magical special day!”
