Kate revealed that she and Prince Charles had become “relatively close” at the Prince's Trust Awards on March 11 – Charles was diagnosed with coronavirus in mid-March.
She said: “Around the 29th/30th. Around March I came home and said [to Derek] “God, you look sick.”

Kate announced on January 5 that Derek had passed away.
She said: “Derek was surrounded by his family in his final days and I was by his side holding his hand in his final hours and when he died.”
“I have so much more to say, and of course I will in due course, but for now I just want to thank all the medical teams who fought so hard to save him and make his final moments as comfortable and dignified as possible to create “possible”.
