Kate Garraway thanked her fans for tracking down husband Derek Draper’s medical supplies after asking for “urgent help” to retrieve them.
Derek, 54, was Britain’s longest-suffering Covid patient after being hospitalized with the virus in March 2020 and is still recovering.
Despite being discharged from hospital last year, he still requires round-the-clock care and daily medication – which Kate revealed on Friday, who accidentally left her in the back of a taxi.

Luckily, after tweeting for help, Kate was able to locate the driver and on Sunday shared: “It’s been returned! Thanks to everyone who got in touch – message went to lovely driver Robert who sent it back – phew and thanks everyone. #Happy Sunday everyone.’
Kate’s campaign began on Friday when she tweeted: “@BC_Lostproperty help!! Just got Derek home from the hospital in a black cab for a weekend visit – leaving a suitcase in the front with all his meds and gear!
‘The driver recognized me but may not know it’s there – please check and get in touch – urgently needed!!’

After her cry for help, Kate’s fans quickly came to her rescue when a follower revealed they actually knew the driver who was transporting the couple and tried to contact him.
They wrote: “I know the driver Kate when he mentioned bringing you and your husband to my place tonight. I’m just trying to get in touch.”
Other Twitter users also shared their words of support and ideas to help, with one writing: “Hope you get this back asap Kate. I’m also sorry to hear that Derek is no longer at home with all of you. Lots of love and best wishes to Derek xxxx.’

Luckily, the person who knew the driver later confirmed that he did indeed get in touch with them, and the medical supplies were quickly returned to Derek and Kate.

The presenter said her children Darcy, 17, and William, 12, have also had to “relearn” how to be with their father amid his ongoing health struggles.
Derek returned home from hospital in April 2021 after a year-long struggle and still requires around-the-clock care amid his lengthy recovery.
Speaking to ‘Good Housekeeping’, Kate said: “When you almost lose someone it all comes into focus.
“In many ways we’re still learning how we are as husbands and wives since so much has changed.
“The same goes for the kids – they have to relearn the experience of being with their dad. And of course the greatest learning is for poor Derek.’
Kate previously admitted Derek could die if left unassisted for more than three days.

He is bedridden, with Kate doing much of the care herself, insisting she will “never give up on him”.
Elsewhere in the chat, the presenter also spoke of trying to find joy in life’s little moments after everything that’s happened.
She explained: “I’m trying more than ever to live in the moment. I send an email and I’m like, ‘Okay, I sent the email. I can’t do anything about it now, so I just look out the window and notice how beautiful the sky is.”
“I really try to capitalize on those moments, because when you do, you realize that life is just a collection of moments — and that finding more good ones than bad ones is probably the secret to everything.”
