The publication of Omid Scobie's Endgame caused a huge stir after two “royal racists” were named in the Dutch version of the book – and now it seems another translation problem in Prince Harry's memoir months earlier incorrectly named the Princess of Wales depicted in bad light.
Following the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare, it was widely reported that Kate chose to stay outside in the gardens of Kensington Palace with her children rather than meet Meghan on the first day when she stopped by to be introduced to William .
However, Spare was accidentally released in Spain just days before the official release date of January 2023, and Harry's words, translated from Spanish into English, were largely misinterpreted as if Kate was nearby in the garden and not entirely away from home.
According to Prince Harry's own words in the English language version, he asked William where Kate was, to which his brother replied: “Get out with the children.”

The Spanish version of the book states that when Harry asked where Kate was, William replied: “Fuera, con los ninos”, which directly translates to “out with the children” and not “outside”.

Another translation drama follows when two alleged “royal racists” are named in the Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame.
The translators insist that the names of Kate and King Charles were in the version of the book presented to them, Omid denies this and Buckingham Palace is reportedly considering legal action.
In “Spare,” released in January this year, the Duke of Sussex recalled the first time he brought Meghan to William and Kate's home so they could meet.
The book described the scene where Meghan hugged William tightly, which surprised “Willy” as he wasn't a big hugger, according to Harry.
The pair exchanged pleasantries and Harry then asked William where Kate was, to which his brother replied: “Get out with the kids.”
It didn't seem like a big deal when Harry replied, “Ah, too bad. Next time.”

Although in the book he recalls Meghan's first meetings with the Queen, Charles, Camilla and William, he never actually mentions what happened when she was first introduced to Kate.
But later in Harry's memoir, he describes an evening between the four where Meghan cooked dinner and everyone seemed to get along.
The conversation was lighthearted and topics ranged from Wimbledon – both women shared a passion for tennis – to the popular US legal drama Suits, in which Meghan starred for seven seasons.

'[Prince William] seemed to like Meg, despite his often expressed concerns. “Kate seemed to like her too,” the book says.
The only criticism, Harry mused, was how differently the two women were dressed, with Meghan in “ripped jeans and barefoot” while Kate was “kooky to the nines.”
But again, the book didn't present the contrasting clothing as a sticking point, and Harry recalled that it was “no big deal, I thought.”
While both Meghan and Kate said little on the record about the early days of their relationship, Meghan openly gushed about her relationship with Kate in a 2017 BBC interview.
The interview, filmed shortly after Meghan and Harry's engagement, showed Meghan actively praising her future sister-in-law as “wonderful” during her early days in the royal family.
In the interview, Harry said that both William and his wife Meghan were eager to get to know Meghan when they found out the two were dating.
“William longed to meet us [Meghan] And Catherine was too, so you know, being neighbors, we've done this a few times now, and Catherine was absolutely…” he said.
Meghan quickly chimed in and said that Kate had been “wonderful.” Harry later added that both William and Charles had been “fantastic” and that the couples had enjoyed “a handful of teas and meetings and all kinds of get-togethers” as part of Meghan's arrival into the royal family.
Despite the fallout from the release of Endgame, it was business as usual for the royals this week, with the royal appearing on a unified front with Queen Camilla, Kate and William at the annual pre-Christmas diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace has not commented publicly, but aides have made it clear that the king and his senior advisers are “considering all options open to them” regarding the unsubstantiated claims, including the possibility of legal action.
However, they feel comforted by the favorable public response they received to the “revelations” in the poorly reviewed book and may decide to let it speak for itself.
The hatchet against the royal family was widely denounced even by normally sympathetic media outlets such as the New York Times, which described one chapter as “like a press release concocted by ChatGPT.”
Endgame sold almost 6,500 copies in the first five days of its release in the UK despite heavy advertising – and has now plummeted to number 215 on the Amazon bestseller list.
