Kate Middleton deviates from the script.
On Sunday, the 40-year-old Duchess of Cambridge wore three very different nautical looks for a sailing race and children’s activity in Plymouth, England – including two pairs of shorts.
Wearing tailored white canvas shorts by heritage British brand Holland Cooper ($243) and a striped navy blue pullover by Erdem, Middleton looked perfectly dapper – and showed off her super toned legs – when she arrived at the event.
Shorts are not a typical part of her royal wardrobe; In fact, this is the third time Middleton has sported the style since he married Prince William in 2011.

The first time Middleton wore shorts to an official royal engagement was just a few years ago at a boat regatta in 2019 – it was the first time she’d been spotted in the style in public since 2008.
This time, she didn’t let decades go by before she settled on a khaki pair at another boat race during the family’s Caribbean tour earlier this year.
On Sunday, Middleton added her beloved white canvas Superga sneakers ($65) and gold chain hoop earrings from Orelia London ($23) to her look, and joined famed Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie on behalf of the 1851 Trust -Charity of the athlete to which they belong Patron.
