Worn only once to the Sun Military Awards, Kate Middleton’s most famous, important and expensive necklace has been a secret ever since. But where has it gone today?
Leaving aside for a moment the practical but elegant, refined but economical fashion exported with great taste and class by Kate Middleton so much so that she’s become a true style queen with her Zara metal cluster earrings, recently worn during the latest edition of the BAFTAs, to focus on a very real secret surrounding the world’s most expensive necklace – and therefore not to achieve more of everyone – the Princess of Wales.

It was indeed 2011 when Kate, still Duchess and William’s new wife, enchanted everyone at London’s Imperial Museum for the enchanted Sun Military Awards. In fact, for this very special event, despite the cold, Middleton had opted for a strapless black velvet gown, framed and adorned with priceless jewels such as the ruby and diamond necklace paired with a pair of precious earrings and a regal bracelet. In short, the princess shone like a real star with her simple and essential look, but at the same time she was very refined and sophisticated. However, the necklace worn by Kate was never heard from again.
What happened to Kate Middleton’s necklace?
As we said, Kate only wore those Ruby and Diamond Necklace representing a small masterpiece of contemporary jewellery. The model, actually a fringe necklace, was adorned with a sun-cut diamond with small flowers with ruby red petals and had a central diamond that drew all the attention.

It is a fine and essential necklace made by Mouawad, or one of the most popular and important Lebanese brands when it comes to high-end jewelry, and gifted to Kate precisely for her wedding to William. However, it is still unknown who gave the princess such a precious and unique necklace. In short, even the donor’s/donor’s identity remains a mystery. But it certainly doesn’t end there.
Years later, nothing is known of either this diamond, which seemed to hide an unspeakable secret, or the necklace. In fact, many ask what happened to the chain who had made Kate Middleton a truly elegant and sophisticated princess back in 2011, just like Lady Diana. And we may never know.
