A Christmas trip to Disneyland Paris was more of a nightmare than a fairy tale for comedian Katherine Ryan.
The 40-year-old comedian likened the park's Disney Village to a “garbage main street” after visiting what was supposed to be the happiest place in the world last month with husband Bobby Kootstra and their children Violet, 14, two-year-old Fred and 12-month-old Fenna had visited.
She told Chron's Richard Eden: “Everyone was vaping and smoking real cigarettes while pushing a stroller or holding a child's hand.” “I've never seen so much e-cigarettes in my life.”
Katherine also complained that she and her family weren't able to meet many of the princess or Disney characters, which the park is known for.
“I asked, ‘Where are all the characters?’ It seemed very bare. We saw Jessie [from Toy Story] and the chipmunks and that's it.

“When I brought my daughter Violet there in 2011, there were lots of characters.
Before adding, “I didn’t have a good time.”
Disneyland Paris first opened in 1992 with two theme parks within the massive complex and welcomes an average of 15 million visitors per year.
Web has contacted Disneyland Paris for comment.
This comes after Katherine jumped on the I'm A Celebrity boycott bandwagon following ITV's decision to allow politicians who have “directly hurt families” to take part in the show.
Last year she revealed that she had decided to turn down the trip to the jungle because she was “against the glorification of dangerous people”.
Although she takes politics very seriously, Katherine was not impressed with Nigel Farage following in Matt Hancock's footsteps.
Speaking to the Metro, Katherine said: “I am vehemently against glorifying people like Matt Hancock and Nigel Farage and reducing them to light entertainment when I think they are very dangerous people who have directly harmed many families.”

The GB News star's signing has proven controversial as Nigel is a notoriously divisive figure known for his right-wing views on immigration and the gender pay gap.
Fans also threatened to boycott I'm A Celeb over their “tone deaf” decision to let Nigel into the jungle before he came third.
Some fans are less than happy with Farage's participation, with almost 10,000 people using the hashtag “Boycott I'm A Celeb” when he first entered the jungle.
