She continued, “It’s a beautiful, magical time.”
On August 26, 2020, Perry gave birth to daughter Daisy Dove, whom she shares with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
In September, the performer admitted social media gave her the wrong impression of what motherhood would be like.
When asked if she had a guide for the R&B, 34, on navigating motherhood, the Firework singer, 37, encouraged her pal to “take it all in” (the duo were pictured in 2009).

“I think all social media is biased. It’s a big, old, fat echo chamber, and the real factor is the algorithm,” she mused.
“I really enjoyed my experience. I’m still 10 pounds heavier than when I started, but I’m in no rush, Katy admitted. ‘It’s been a year. I care more about their happiness and my happiness and my sanity. Hormones are… quite interesting.”
She also shared how difficult the first few days of motherhood were after giving birth to little Daisy.
Family matters: Daisy is Perry’s first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom, 45, and second for the Lord Of The Rings actor, who also has an 11-year-old son Flynn with ex-wife Miranda Kerr
Life changer: Perry gushed about the daughter on her first Mother’s Day as a mom on May 9, 2021
“As a new mom, those first six weeks are like, ‘What?’ It’s just the biggest life change ever,” she said.
“You are responsible for the welfare of someone who cannot even hold their head up. It’s a real shift and you won’t be number 1 on the call list.’
Although it was difficult to adapt to the changes, being a mother gave her a new perspective on life.
‘It is the best. Anything meant to fade fades, and a balance comes in,” she shared. “I like living more in the real world for now.”
Katy also revealed that her work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation had taught her to “see through a child’s eyes” and to truly understand the nature of unconditional love she later felt for her daughter.
Getting strong: Bloom and Perry started dating in 2016 before splitting, only to rekindle their romance in 2018; They would announce their engagement in February 2019 (pictured 2019)
