Katy Perry is set to host a new podcast about Elizabeth Taylor, which will portray the old Hollywood icon as a precursor to modern influencers.
The limited podcast, titled Elizabeth The First, will have 10 episodes, according to an Associated Press report.
The show is produced by Katy, 37, as well as House Of Taylor, which sells jewelry designed by Elizabeth, and entertainment company Imperative.

Katy’s podcast will highlight Elizabeth’s groundbreaking business ventures, including becoming the first movie star to be paid $1 million for a picture.
The film in question was Cleopatra, which was then the most expensive film ever made to the point where it was losing money at the box office despite being a smash hit.
Fox chairman Spyros Skouras noted that Cleopatra “cost $20 million more than it should have cost,” while Elizabeth herself called the film “vulgar” and “a bungle.”
“They cut out the heart, the essence, the motivations, the gist, and added all those fight scenes,” Elizabeth said. “It should have been about three great people, but it lacked reality and passion.”

Meanwhile, Katy made headlines in recent years when she was hired to judge American Idol, and reports swirled that she was paid $25 million.
Elizabeth also made business strides by becoming one of the first major celebrities to start a successful perfume company in her name.
When the podcast was announced, Katy issued a statement about Elizabeth, a two-time Oscar winner, saying that “like most people, I was drawn to her glamour.”
Katy added: “I’m inspired by her bold activism, her constant boss who moves around the business and through it all, an uncompromising way of loving – all things that I try to live in my own life. It is an honor to be able to share her story in this way.”

Elizabeth Taylor’s “uncompromising way of loving” has taken her through eight marriages, including one to Eddie Fisher, whom she stole from his first wife, Debbie Reynolds.
Debbie and Elizabeth had been best friends before the scandal, and they ended up fixing fences after Elizabeth left Eddie for Richard Burton.
However, when Elizabeth died in 2011, Debbie went to The View and quipped, “You know, Elizabeth loved life, and I know because she was a part of mine.”
Elizabeth’s most famous romance was with Richard, whom she met while filming Cleopatra and whom she twice married and divorced.

Richard once presented her with a whopping 68-carat stone that became known as the Taylor-Burton Diamond.
He also gave her the world-famous 33.19-carat Krupp diamond, which she used to call “my baby,” and which was renamed the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond.
Elizabeth loved jewels so much that she became known as the Queen of Diamonds and even launched a fragrance called White Diamonds.
Activism: Elizabeth, pictured in 2005, was one of the first major celebrities to take on the mantle of fundraising to fight AIDS
As for activism, Elizabeth was one of the first major celebrities to devote herself to fundraising to fight AIDS, and she brought stars like her pal Michael Jackson with her.
Shortly after Joan Rivers laid the groundwork, Elizabeth became a prominent adopter of AIDS activism.
Eventually, in 1991, she founded the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which continues to raise funds to help fight the disease.
