Kaylee Goncalves and Maddie Mogen hear ahead of the University of Idaho killings in new audio lessons

A haunting new video from the night of the horrific University of Idaho killings in November shows two of the victims walking alongside a mystery man hours before they were killed.

Kayla Goncalves and Maddie Mogen were caught on surveillance video in downtown Moscow after being caught in a food truck. The man walking next to them corresponds to the image of the man standing next to them at the truck.

Police believe this person is not a suspect in the brutal murders of Mogen, 21, Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapain, 20.

In the audio, a woman can be heard asking Goncalves and Maddie Mogen, “Maddie, what did you say to Adam?” Another voice replies, “Like, I told Adam everything.” Fox News reports that the first female voice is Goncalves.

The video was first uploaded to the University of Idaho Murders – Case Discussion Facebook group. The video was given to them by a resident of Moscow, Idaho, who says they gave it to police investigators.

The couple stayed at the Corner Club Bar until 1:30 a.m., walked to the food truck and then got a ride home. Police have already said the driver of the car is not a suspect.

One of the Facebook group’s administrators, Kristine Cameron, told Fox News: “We can all check those few minutes at the food truck, but all we have to remember is that there was a whole evening before that. There’s more than this one timestamp we have this evening.’

Speaking of a man previously seen with the couple in the food truck, who also appears in the new video, Cameron said: “People conclude that he’s creepy [few] minutes and I want to give a bigger picture. He wasn’t just staring at them… He was with them before.’

Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that Goncalves feared a stalker in the weeks leading up to the killings – something Moscow police have denied knowledge of.

But a vape shop executive now claims he spoke to her and Mogen about Goncalves’ stalkers three weeks before they were killed in their beds.

He told NewsNation: “Kaylee and Maddie both came here, they always had a smile on their face, they were the light of the world.

“They always came in with a group of four or five girls at most, they came in together all the time.

“I made a joke about them getting together that it was nice to see they were trying to stay safe.

“Maddie then said oh we stalked a friend of ours so we’re traveling in a group. She waved at Kaylee as she said it.

“It seemed like they were all trying to protect Kaylee and be there as friends. That was three weeks before the murder.

Goncalves reportedly told him that the stalker would follow her “at night” as she walked to and from bars, either on “campus or down Main Street.”

Her family have said she didn’t know of any stalkers, although the manager claimed it was something she had “tons of problems” with.

She “always needed to have someone walking behind her constantly” to make her feel safe.

It comes as police are searching footage after a possible scream on the night of the killings may have been caught by an officer’s bodycam.

The high-pitched tone, recorded at 3:12 a.m., was picked up by a Moscow police officer responding to an unrelated incident near the University of Idaho.

Some web detectives believe the sound is a scream, while others think it could be the sound of car tires coming off.

The noise appears to have been made around the time the students were killed, and authorities are hoping it can help them figure out what happened.

Police have found no evidence of a sex crime and the victims had wounds on their bodies that indicated they were attempting to fight the attacker.

Initially, police officers said they thought all four had been attacked as they slept, with Goncalves’ father saying she suffered the worst injuries from the incident – suffering from “cavity” and “laceration”.

Idaho Police said the four University of Idaho students were murdered in their sleep between 3 and 4 a.m. (pictured: victims Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Maddie Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and 20-year-old Ethan chapin)

The chief of police at the Moscow Police Department himself admitted that investigators failed to understand how the two surviving housemates – Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen – appeared to sleep through the attack.

Newly released video footage of a police stop near the student’s King Street home had previously been unearthed by internet detectives.

The officer’s bodycam captured the moment plainclothes officers in the area made an independent stop over three students suspected of underage drinking.

In the background of the video, in addition to the “scream,” several people can also be seen quickly moving past police on Taylor Avenue, just two houses down from the scene and minutes before the killings took place.

A forensic pathologist and former medical examiner also told Fox News that the toxicology reports for the students who were killed could provide possible answers to the unsolved case.

dr Michael Baden asked if they took any drugs that made them “fall asleep” during the encounter.

Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabbutt dismissed the tests last week, saying they had not yet returned from the lab – adding that they were irrelevant.

Moscow police declined to comment on whether toxicological reports are pending.

So far, the investigation – now entering its fifth week – has not produced any suspects or motives for the killings, and pressure continues to mount on officers who have yet to make a single arrest.

Victims’ families have expressed frustration at the lack of information from investigators, and no murder weapon has yet been found.

Moscow police are currently investigating “huge amounts” of digital content from local households and businesses.

Captain Roger Lanier said Thursday they combed a database of 22,000 registered white Hyundai Elantras that fit the criteria they sort.

Police say the vehicle’s number plate is still unknown and could have been removed.

The Moscow police chief said there were “several groups” searching clips to track down those responsible.

He vowed his squad would keep working through Christmas as the team is under intense pressure to finally make an arrest over a month after the stabbings.

It comes after it was revealed officials are only now requesting security footage from gas stations 24 miles away in nearby towns.

Moscow Police Chief James Fry said: “We will continue to maintain this pace [over the holidays].
