TO UPDATE: Meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz posted on her Facebook page this afternoon. “Thank you for all the texts, calls and well wishes. I’ll be fine!” She didn’t give any details.
EARLIER: KCAL meteorologist Alissa Carlson Schwartz passed out during a live TV broadcast on Saturday morning.
Schwartz provided the weather as part of the 7am updates when she was struck. She began to bend over, passed out, and collapsed onto the desk before she could even begin her report.
There was a small delay before the show switched to a commercial. There hasn’t been an update on Carlson’s condition since then.
Carlson, a former Mrs. America contestant, has a heart condition. In 2014, she vomited during a weather report on another station on set during a weather report. Subsequent tests discovered a leaking heart valve.
