Kelly Clarkson denies rejecting Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship

Kelly Clarkson let the world know this weekend that she doesn’t hate Taylor Swift’s budding relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce.

The “Kelly Clarkson Show” host recently came under fire after she joked about the superstar couple during a Thursday conversation with her guest, “Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang.

During the episode, Clarkson mentioned a viral SNL skit that mocked the NFL’s controversial over-coverage of “Traylor.”

“It’s not funny how the NFL is literally taking over for people who like watching sports now,” she said at the time. “It’s like watching Housewives while you watch.”

On Saturday, Clarkson took to Instagram to address critics who claimed she had overshadowed the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

“Just a quick public service announcement to everyone as this appears to be breaking news,” Clarkson wrote. “Don’t please clickbait and trash reporters who twist the facts. I didn’t bash anyone’s romance.”

She continued: “I’m all for romance. Yay, romance. Did you even see what I actually said on my show? I just said that if I tune in to watch football, I want to watch football. Seems like a reasonable request. Okay, go ahead and go COWBOYS!”

Many fans of X, formerly Twitter, took to the social platform to support Clarkson.

To be fair, even Kelce has admitted that he thinks the NFL is “exaggerating” since their courtship is constantly in the spotlight, so Clarkson’s comments don’t seem too far from reality.

Although the 33-year-old “Bad Blood” crooner and Kelce, also 33, have not publicly confirmed that they are dating, the two apparently made their rumored relationship public after they were spotted holding hands in New York City last weekend, before they stopped by “SNL.”
