Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos slammed for ‘painful’ new show as viewers tune out post-Ryan Seacrest

“Live with Kelly and Mark” debuted Monday and Ryan Seacrest was no longer a co-host while Mark Consuelos officially began his first day on the job.

While Kelly Ripa has been very comfortable as co-host — a gig she’s had on ABC for more than 20 years — viewers say they’ve missed Seacrest.

“Thank you for trusting me as a co-pilot,” Consuelos once said to his 24-year-old wife during the live show. “I really appreciate it.”

But “Live” fans weren’t so smitten with the married couple, who helmed one of their favorite morning shows, and they took their grievances online.

One user wrote on Twitter: “Their first show together today was awful, painful. I turned them off.”

Another followed, “@kellymarklive Boring first day! @KellyRipa for the life of God can you please LET MARK FINISH HIS SENTENCES before you interrupt him!”

They added: “This is a big mistake. I mean I literally won’t be watching this ridiculous show now @ABCNetwork you should have fired them and stayed with @RyanSeacrest.”

“It’s the WORST decision. Terrible cohosts. There was no one else to cohost with @KellyRipa??? Please change this,” wrote one unimpressed user.

One fan kept it short, simply tweeting, “I really missed Ryan this morning.”

“I’m not surprised Kelly won’t let Mark speak #KellyAndMark ughhh… irritating. Let him have his moments,” wrote another user.

Ripa and Consuelos’ representatives did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Seacrest became Ripa’s greatest television ally when he joined Live! 2017 for a permanent co-hosting role after Michael Strahan’s abrupt departure.

Strahan, who was particularly missing from Ripa’s latest book despite being by her side for four years since 2012, announced his departure from the show just minutes after Ripa found out about it.

Ripa co-hosted with Regis Philbin from 2001 to 2011, taking over from Kathie Lee Gifford. In her book, Ripa wrote about issues working with Philbin, such as not being able to use her own hair and makeup team and not being given a wardrobe budget. Ripa also noted that her name “had to be smaller than Regis’ name on the title card and Live!” branding.

She wrote that the offer to host came with a warning: “You want to make sure you know who your boss is.”

However, Consuelos isn’t entirely new to the hosting gig. He has hosted the show 92 times, just never as a regular part.

Kelly and Mark first met in 1995 when they starred as Hayley and Mateo on All My Children. They married a year later and now have three children.
