The Los Angeles Kings announced Saturday that goaltender Pheonix Copley will be out for the remainder of the season, and Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes may have a solution to make up for that loss.
In fact, Copley underwent knee surgery earlier this week to repair a torn ACL. Since the start of the season, he has served as a backup to starting goalkeeper Cam Talbot. The former was injured in training on December 15th and has not played in a game since.

For now, David Rittich has taken Copley's spot, but Kings GM Rob Blake could well seek help from his counterpart, Hughes. In fact, the ménage a trois continues with the Canadian, and Jake Allen could certainly bring experience behind Talbot in Los Angeles.
This season, Copley posted a 4-1-2 record, a goals-against average of 3.16 and a save percentage of .870. Allen has four wins in 14 games and conceded an average of 3.52 goals per game.
