Kerry Washington visits the Today Show to promote her new Hulu series UnPrisoned with co-star Delroy Lindo

Kerry Washington took to Instagram on Friday to promote her upcoming appearance on the Today Show.

The 47-year-old actress used the app’s Stories feature to tease photos from a segment with co-star Delroy Lindo.

Posing for a close-up selfie with the actor, Kerry wrote: “Catch us on the @today show” and tagged Lindo.

The Save The Last Dance actress wore a lavender silk blouse and a small microphone was attached to her collar.

Standing behind her, Lindo looked sharp in a navy blue suit with white pinstripes as she flashed a smile.

In a second picture, she showed off her full outfit, which included a fashionable red maxi skirt.

The picture was joined by Today Show hosts Jenna B. Hager and Hoda Kotb, who matched her with their radiant looks.

Hoda wore loose-fitting pink pants with a white short-sleeved top, while Jenna wore a black sheath dress covered in flowers.

Kerry wrote to her 7 million followers: “@unprisonedhulu on @todayshow! Thanks for having us @jennabhager and @hodakotb.’

Delroy, who stars alongside Washington in the dramatic comedy, looked dapper as he paired his suit with a white shirt and lavender tie.

The bald actor looked handsome in round, thin-rimmed glasses and a gray goatee.

Also on Friday, Kerry took a moment to capture a brief snippet of herself wearing an inverted baseball cap as she promotes her show.

She explained, “Today is March 10th, which means UnPrisoned is available today on Hulu, and I’m really excited for you guys to see it.”

The Bronx-born entertainer continued, “I’m really proud of this show. I think it’s really funny and really important and I’m really proud of my work and I’m blown away by the rest of the cast.”

“Just glad that starting today you can hop onto Hulu and watch. They’re all available, all episodes, so let me know what you think.’

She also advised viewers, “watch it with people you love, watch it with people you struggle with. Just look at it.’

In the series, she plays the daughter of a man who was released from prison after his last 17-year sentence (Lindo).

In the program, Kerry plays a therapist trying to overcome and heal her childhood trauma caused by her father’s many years in prison.

While chatting with Savannah Guthrie about a previous episode of Today, Kerry noted that “we do a lot of shows about going to jail,” as well as a lot about “being in jail,” but she figured it was about shows missing, which deal with how formerly imprisoned people get used to life outside again.

She added that the story could appeal to many Americans, given that 80 million Americans have criminal records and most also have family members adjusting to their freedom.

Kerry also recently opened up about sharing her life stories in a new memoir.

Kerry said she first thought about writing the book after her hit series Scandal ended, which left her wanting to look back at the greatest moments of her life.

She cryptically described it as “new information” she learned while researching herself and her family.

Savannah also revealed some of the photos Kerry posted to her Instagram in February to celebrate Black History Month.

She had replicated photos of famous black women, including civil rights icon Rosa Parks and Jackie Brown star Pam Grier.
