Kevin Costner mortgages a property to finance his film

Kevin Costner has mortgaged a 10-acre oceanfront property in California to fund his ambitious new film project.

During a recent interview with Deadline, the comedian admitted “without even thinking about it” to mortgage land next to his home in Carpinteria to fund his four-part western film Horizon. “I mortgaged 10 acres on the waterfront in Santa Barbara where I was going to build my final home,” the Yellowstone actor revealed. But I did it without thinking about it. My accountant had a severe nervous breakdown. But it’s my life and I believe in the idea and the story. »

Kevin Costner has been attempting to create the four-part film series for over thirty years. The star has reportedly personally raised as much as $50 million of Horizon’s $100 million budget. A risky bet that he would not make again! “I’ll tell you. I’ll never do that again. I’ll never put my frigging money on another movie after those four,” he exclaimed to a Variety reporter.

The Dances With Wolves star, 68, reportedly has a net worth of around $250 million and makes $1.5 million per episode of his series Yellowstone, making him the highest-paid TV actor.

Horizon, which is currently in production, would be Kevin Costner’s first film in twenty years. The film was intended to document the colonization of the American West as part of the expansion before and after the Civil War.

Kevin Costner will star alongside Michael Rooker, Sienna Miller, Giovanni Ribisi, Luke Wilson, Danny Huston and Sam Worthington
