Kevin Costner’s lawyer is firing back at anonymous complaints about his work ethic on popular show Yellowstone.
Marty Singer slammed Deadline’s unnamed sources, who claimed the 68-year-old actor wanted to film the western drama in 50 days for the first part of the season and just a week for the second part of the episodes.
“The notion that Kevin only wanted to work on the second half of Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ for a week is an absolute lie,” Singer told Puck News Monday.
“It’s ridiculous – and don’t believe anyone who suggests it for a second,” he added. “As anyone who knows anything about Kevin knows, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always done everything to ensure its success.”
The Post has reached out to representatives from Costner and the Paramount Network for comment.

Citing anonymous sources, Puck News reported that Costner’s “Yellowstone” contract will pay him $1.2 million per episode for Season 5, rising to $1.5 million per episode if there is a Season 6. He also inked a deal with MTV Entertainment Studios that runs through 2025.
Deadline reported earlier this month that the series could end after Season 5, which premiered in November and wrapped an eight-episode run in January. More episodes are expected to appear in the coming months.
The outlet’s anonymous sources reportedly claimed that the production drama is causing some tension among cast members as the fate of the series is at stake.
“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope that will be the case for a long time to come,” a Paramount spokesman told The Post at the time.
But if Costner, who just won a Golden Globe for his work on the show as John Dutton, were to leave the series, Matthew McConaughey could helm a new show that’s part of the “Yellowstone” franchise.
“Thanks to Taylor Sheridan’s brilliant mind, we’re constantly working on franchise expansions to this incredible world he built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent that we would love to work with,” added the Paramount spokesperson.
Costner, who has starred in “Yellowstone” since it premiered in 2018, put his 160-acre ranch in Aspen up for rent last month. For a whopping $36,000 a night, the property is billed as “the ultimate luxury retreat.”
Costner also co-wrote, produced, directed and starred in Horizon, a series of Civil War-era Western films.
