Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, is revealing the couple’s lavish spending and A-list lifestyle to earn $248,000 a month in child support from the actor.
Baumgartner’s most recent divorce filing from Costner shows that the Hollywood star earned exactly $19,517,064 in 2022 and the family spent $6,645,285 on expenses, excluding taxes.
She described how the couple “traveled the world in private planes, stayed in luxurious hotels and private homes” while spending $25,806 on boat trips, $21,807.67 on spa services and $542,303.47 on gardeners.
And even if she gets $248,000 a month, according to Baumgartner, that’s “less than what it takes to support the kids in their usual lifestyles.”
She insisted the true number was higher.
“As outlined above, the amount required to support the children’s current lifestyle is $332,264 per month, which is 60 percent of our family’s expenses,” she wrote.

They revealed that 2022 earnings of over $19 million included rents from his extensive properties. Family expenses excluding taxes totaled $6,645,285. And the star paid $3,665,459 in federal income tax plus $1,171,699 in California income tax.

Also under the personal “profit and loss” section of the family’s finances filed by Baumgartner for 2022 are: $41,800 in groceries and cash, $34,434 in golf and club fees , $12,000 in hunting fees, $99,000 in cash, Christine’s Amex credit card expenses of $222,586, household help of $84,040, and personal trainer expenses of $12,851 .
Additionally, Baumgartner, 49, wrote enthusiastically about her life with Costner in the present tense to support her case for a privileged time for her children.
“In addition to our beach compound, our family travels several times a year,” she said.
“We vacation in the Caribbean and Hawaii and travel to Aspen several times a year, usually in the winter and summer.” “We usually host family and friends on our trips.”
Describing the Colorado property, she said, “Spreading over 160 acres, the Aspen property is truly one of a kind.” It is located about 10 minutes from downtown Aspen and is surrounded by a national forest that cannot be built upon.
“It has several houses and buildings, each with extensive individual characteristics.” In high season, the rent is $250,000 per week. The property has two large lakes and is equipped with a dozen ATVs and snowmobiles that the kids love to ride.
“Kevin told me he was once offered $250 million for the property. In any case, it is an exceptionally valuable asset.”
She also said, “Beyond travel, we regularly entertain family and friends at our home and often rely on caterers or chefs to prepare most meals.”
Costner has stated in court filings that his estranged wife refused to leave the Carpinteria home despite signing the 2004 marriage contract, in which she promised to quit within 30 days if they separated
And even if she gets $248,000 a month, Baumgartner, who was driving her Range Rover to Carpinteria last week, argued that her monthly alimony claim of $250,000 would still be “less than the amount it would take to to support the children in their usual lifestyle”.
“We have a team of staff to help us manage the demands of our large household and maintain the property.”
“Our two oldest children went to private school through junior high and our youngest is still in private school and we are generous when it comes to their lifestyle.” We are also members of several local private country clubs.
“I realize that our lifestyle is extraordinary. “I appreciate how blessed we are to live like this.”

“Christine has taken the position that she will not leave Kevin’s separate estate unless and until Kevin agrees to various financial demands,” his own attorney wrote.
The court was told he had already paid Baumgartner $1 million to fund a new apartment and gave her $200,000 in the early years of their marriage as part of the terms of the nearly 19-year-old’s tentative marriage.

Baumgartner has backed down with her latest findings, claiming Costner tried to get her to reach for the money, thereby depriving her of the right to contest spousal support.
“I have no personal income or assets in my personal name other than a bank account Kevin set up when we married over 18 years ago and another account I had prior to marriage of less than $50,000 ‘ she wrote.
“I recently learned that without my knowledge or consent, Kevin deposited $1,000,000 into an account he set up in my name years ago and claimed that the payment was made pursuant to Section F.5.i of the premarital agreement.”
“Kevin is trying to force my acknowledgment that the spousal support limitation is valid by ‘taking’ these funds.”
“I think Kevin’s goal is to get me to tap into that money so he can argue that I waived my right to contest the prenuptial agreement.’ I can’t make that concession.”
In other filings, Costner asked the judge to seal the prenup “in light of the confidentiality clause.”
